Suzanne only accepts a limited number of commissions so if you are interested in obtaining a cake please get in touch to check availability for your date. Bookings are accepted and confirmed on payment of a non-refundable booking deposit of £50.00 (£25.00 if the total order value is £250 or less).
Cakes - what's inside
Cakes are all freshly baked to order using the finest quality ingredients, locally sourced where possible. Tiered cakes may have different flavour cakes for each tier, offering a choice to your guests.

If you would like a flavour that is not listed or would like to make some changes to the details above such as having strawberry jam instead of raspberry, or a Chocolate Mint Truffle Cake instead of orange Suzanne is happy to do these with sufficient notice.
Cakes are mostly covered in sugarpaste, though buttercream or chocolate ganache is available as an optional covering with a layer of almond or chocolate paste below the sugarpaste for stacked cakes. Marzipan (almond paste) does not have to be used if you'd prefer it (and let's face it - it's probably one of the most hated foods around) though the quality almond paste Suzanne uses bears little resemblance to the bitter, fake flavoured cheap marzipan we are all familiar with.
Special Dietary Requirements and Allergies
All cakes generally contain wheat and gluten, butter, eggs and may contain milk or citrus.
Rich fruit cake, Battenberg and raspberry and white chocolate cake all contain nuts (almonds).
If you or your guests have any special requirements please advise at the time of ordering. Most cakes can be made free from wheat, gluten or dairy products and some are either egg-free or can be made without using eggs. Egg-free sponge-type cakes are not suitable for the lower tiers of a stacked cake due to their fragility but chocolate biscuit cake (naturally egg-free) or rich fruit cake can be stacked successfully.
Depending on the nature of the allergy or intolerance you may wish to provide a separate individual cake for the person requiring it, or have the entire cake made free from a particular ingredient. If choosing to have one tier of a stacked cake made with special ingredients then the design of the cake must be such that this tier will not come into direct contact with any of the other tiers.
Please note that whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure a cake which should not contain a particular ingredient does not come into contact with the ingredient from another source, Suzanne does not guarantee any cake to be free from traces of an allergen.
Designing your Cake
Inspiration for a cake can come from many sources. If you have a specific theme for your wedding or celebration then this will influence the cake or you may wish to include details from a variety of sources - dresses (bride or bridesmaids'), fabrics, patterns, flowers, stationery, venue/location, hobbies - the possibilities are endless! You may like certain details from a cake you've already seen which can inspire your own unique personal design. Please be aware that cake designs are the intellectual property of the original creator and it is illegal for another cake maker to copy or replicate a design that doesn't belong to them without obtaining permission from the copyright owner. Suzanne offers detailed design consultations once your booking is confirmed to plan your cake in detail, if you have any inspirational items or pictures it is very helpful to bring these along.
Delivery and Setup
Suzanne can deliver and set your finished cake up at your venue on the day of your wedding or celebration, allowing you to relax and know that everything is taken care of. She will liaise closely with your venue, delivering the cake at a mutually convenient time, taking into account if the ceremony is being held at the venue and set up times.
The cost for delivery is £1.50 per mile with a minimum charge of £25.00. It may be possible to offer a reduced rate for greater distances (over 50 miles) - if you are interested in obtaining a quotation please email Suzanne with the location of your venue.
Suzanne has a range of cake stands and knives available to hire if required. Hired stands are subject to a security deposit in addition to the hire charge, the security deposit is refunded on the safe return of the stand. Stands can be delivered or collected along with the cake, hired stands should be returned by the hirer as we do not return to the venue to collect them.
Please note that stands are only available to hire along with a cake order, we do not provide a stand hire service for cakes purchased elsewhere.
